Peter Rappoport is a Senior Fellow at Better Markets, where he provides strategic input into Better Markets’ work on banking, economics, finance, securities, and associated matters.
Prior to joining Better Markets, Mr. Rappoport was at JP Morgan Chase for 29 years, serving as a Managing Director for 20 years. He led quantitative teams in the Investment Bank’s Fixed Income, Credit and Derivatives areas, Asset Management, Model Validation, and most recently, the Analytics Group in Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk. His focus ranged from quantitative and statistical analysis of financial instruments for the bank’s wholesale and institutional clients to pricing credit risk, reviewing stress test models, and developing statistical frameworks for anti-money laundering, employee conduct, and customer complaints.
Prior to JP Morgan, Mr. Rappoport was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Rutgers and NYU and an Economist at the New York Federal Reserve Bank. Mr. Rappoport is a graduate of Oxford University, England, and received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California Berkley.
