Carolyn Davis

Carolyn Davis is the Director of Communications at Better Markets, where she leads strategic communications efforts, shaping impactful messaging and advocacy initiatives to advance an economy that works for everyone.

Prior to joining Better Markets, Davis was the Director of External Communications at Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE), where she developed strategic communications strategies to support civic engagement and leadership development. Previously, she served as Vice President at West End Strategy Team, advising clients on media strategy, message development, and coalition-building across a number of issue areas including women’s healthcare access, affordable child care, and philanthropy.

Davis has held senior roles in policy advocacy and strategic engagement at the Center for American Progress, PRRI (Public Religion Research Institute), and the Center for Public Theology at Wesley Seminary. She also founded and led CJD Strategies, a consultancy offering values-driven advocacy communications, philanthropic engagement, and public affairs strategy for clients such as Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Family Values @Work Action.  

Davis holds a Ph.D. in Religion from Vanderbilt University, an M.Div. from Emory University, and a B.A. in Political Science, Spanish, and Latin American Studies from Southern Methodist University.
