Why Fed’s Tarullo Is Talking Something Other Than Banks

“Federal Reserve governor Daniel Tarullo is a lawyer whose specialty is banking. His recent speeches have titles like ‘Regulating Systemically Important Financial Firms’ and ‘Large Banks and Small Banks in an Era of Systemic Risk Regulation.’”

“On Thursday evening at Columbia University, though, Mr. Tarullo will talk about something else: The nearly 30 million Americans who are either officially unemployed; out of the labor force but wanting jobs; or working part-time though they would rather work full-time.”
