WASHINGTON, D.C. — Carolyn Davis has joined Better Markets as Director of Communications. She was most recently the Director of External Communications at Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE) and brings more than a decade of advocacy and communications experience as well as a broad policy research background to Better Markets. She will oversee the organization’s strategic communications efforts, shaping impactful messaging and advocacy initiatives to advance an economy that works for everyone.
“As more and more Americans are impacted by the rigged economy, Carolyn will be an invaluable addition to our team as we fight for a financial system that supports the real productive economy,” said Better Markets President and CEO Dennis M. Kelleher. “Her experience in making complex policy issues accessible to a diverse array of audiences inside and outside the Beltway will be an important asset as we seek to advance our mission in Washington and beyond.”

Prior to joining Better Markets, Carolyn also held senior roles at organizations including West End Strategy Team, Center for American Progress, and PRRI (Public Religion Research Institute). She also founded CJD Strategies, a consultancy offering values-driven advocacy communications, philanthropic engagement, and public affairs strategy forclients such as Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Family Values @Work Action.
Davis holds a Ph.D. in Religion from Vanderbilt University, an M.Div. from Emory University, and a B.A. in Political Science, Spanish, and Latin American Studies from Southern Methodist University.
