Washington, D.C. – Anton Becker has joined Better Markets as Director of Communications. Becker, a Capitol Hill veteran who has served as a Communications Director and Press Secretary for Members of Congress, brings more than a decade of experience in communications and public affairs to Better Markets. He will oversee the organization’s comprehensive communications strategy and efforts to reach and engage media, policymakers, opinion leaders, and the public on economic, financial, and financial reform issues.
“Anton will be a terrific addition to our team,” said Better Markets President and CEO, Dennis M. Kelleher. “His experience in both the public and private sectors, and work in policy communications, will be an important asset as we continue to engage with the many audiences and media outlets in Washington and beyond.”
“It’s an honor to join Better Markets and contribute to its mission of fighting for a financial system that supports the productive economy and facilitates broad-based and equitable growth for all Americans,” said Becker. “Better Markets’ expertise and advocacy on all the key economic and financial issues is invaluable in the policymaking process and I look forward to helping grow our already impressive reach.”
Prior to Better Markets, Becker served as Assistant Vice President at Story Partners, a Washington D.C.-based public affairs agency. He also served as Communications Director for Congressman Frank Pallone, Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and as Press Secretary for Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth. Becker is a graduate of Union College.
