On Halloween, while most people are thinking about ghosts and ghouls, at Better Markets we’re thinking about something much scarier: the future of our economy—and the financial system that impacts every part of our lives.

As we head into 2025, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

The past few years have been a whirlwind of progress and setbacks, but we’ve begun to undo some of the reckless financial deregulation and restore balance to our economic and financial systems and address long-overdue issues of social, economic, and racial justice. But there’s still so much more to do—and regardless of who wins, our work won’t stop.

Better Markets is committed to continuing the fight for an economy that works for everyone—not just the already wealthy and well connected. The outcome of the election won’t change the fact that we’ll need to push for these reforms every day. Whether we’re advocating at the agencies, on Capitol Hill, or in the media, we are committed to ensuring that Washington works for the people, and ensures that the financial system supports the real, productive economy and isn’t a threat to it and every hardworking American.

We need your support now more than ever to make sure the right voices are heard in Washington and that the policies that promote genuine economic growth and wealth creation prevail along with justice, fairness, transparency, and accountability.

Let’s face the real monsters this Halloween: greed, lobbying, deregulation, influence peddling, revolving door backscratching, and a financial system that too often leaves everyday Americans in the dark and ripped off.
