Better Markets and Surdna Team Up to Advance Economic Justice and Shared Prosperity

Washington, D.C.—Dennis M. Kelleher, Co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Better Markets, and Adam Connaker, Director of Impact Investing at the Surdna Foundation, issued the following statement today announcing a new partnership:

“Millions of Americans continue to face serious threats to their economic security,” said Mr. Kelleher. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to rebalancing the financial system so that it supports the real productive economy and works for everyone—not just the wealthy few. Together with Surdna, we’re working toward a system that supports jobs, small businesses, and community banks; curbs predatory practices; and helps close wealth gaps while lifting people into the middle class. We’re proud to be working with the Surdna Foundation towards these goals.”

“A financial system that truly serves the public interest is essential to addressing social, economic, and racial inequality,” said Mr. Connaker. “We are proud to support Better Markets in its work to promote a fairer, more inclusive economy—one that strengthens democracy and delivers on the promise of the American Dream. We believe this partnership underscores a shared vision for an economy that prioritizes people over profits and ensures opportunity and prosperity for all.”

This partnership was made possible by a grant from the Surdna Foundation.
