What We Do

September 21, 2011

February 15, 2011 – House Agriculture Subcommittee hearing entitled “Impact of CFTC’s Rulemaking Approach for Dodd/Frank on End Users and Economy.”

The House Agriculture Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management provided another early opportunity for business interest groups to make their case against the imposition of margin requirements if their hedging were to be done for their own business purposes.

A panel of witnesses from the business community – including cattleman, ranchers and commodity hedge-fund managers – presented their concerns that should the regulations exceed congressional intent, unnecessary costs and market disruptions would result.
