Inside Job

The documentary “Inside Job” crystallizes the systemic corruption throughout Wall Street that led to a near collapse of the U.S. economy in the fall of 2008. Director Charles Ferguson highlights the conflicts of interest riddled within academia, where notable professors pushed deregulation while failing to disclose lucrative consulting gigs on the side. Another segment explores the collapse of the banking sector Iceland as a result of an asset bubble, foreshadowing what would eventually occur in the United States. The movie makes a powerful case for the need of financial reform to a general audience and won an Academy Award.
