Mona Benach is a Senior Securities Specialist for Better Markets where she works to advance Better Markets’ securities initiatives.
Ms. Benach comes to Better Markets from private practice in securities litigation, where she served as Senior Counsel representing public corporations and individuals before the Securities and Exchange Commission and the PCAOB. Prior to this role, Ms. Benach served as Assistant Director at the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board. She has also been Assistant General Counsel at a large financial services company as well as served in the Division of Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission as Senior Counsel from 2008-2013. Ms. Benach began her legal career as an associate at Arnold & Porter. She was a judicial law clerk for Hon. Deborah K. Chasanow from 2001-2002.
Ms. Benach graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar from Columbia Law School where she was a member of the Columbia Law Review and she received her BA from The Johns Hopkins University.
