What We Do

April 25, 2013

April 16, 2013 – House Financial Services Financial Institutios Subcommittee hearing entitled "Examining Bank Regulatory Burdens."

In March, the Subcommittee heard from GAO and the FDIC about banking regulations and how they affect smaller financial institutions. Today’s hearing, the second in a series of hearings on regulations and community banking, the Subcommittee  received testimony from a panel four trade groups representing different types of institutions within the banking industry. As in the first hearing, the focus was not a single regulatory requirement but on the administrative needs of smaller institutions to comply with an ever growing volume of new and existing regulations.

Chairwoman Capito also announced the introduction of a bipartisan financial regulatory relief bill that is likely to receive additional attention in the House.
